Now is the time to get your orders in for my limited number of Slow Stitch Kits for Christmas 2024.

Each kit contains selected fabrics including block prints from Bagru, India, European linen, and gifted vintage fabrics from the 1950s & 60s from my collection.

Also included:

  • 2 chenille needles

  • Pins and clips

  • Hand stitching 12 weight cotton thread from makers Aurifil wrapped on a peg

  • Palo Santo stick to light and let its wonderful aroma soothe

  • Small chocolate for energy as you create your mini pocket quilt

The quilt can be used as a coaster, a mini artwork for your wall, a comforter for your pocket (for whenever you feel overwhelmed and need a tactile reminder to breathe out) or of course can be given as a unique and personal handmade, hand-stitched gift.

Handmade Quilts

Comfort and memories

As well as public commissions I accept private work to create handmade quilts. The quilts are usually lap size (approx. 120cm x 120cm) and can be gifted for family members leaving home eg: to start work or university. After a conversation, I source the colours and can include favourite clothing squares from the family. I can include a small inscription of a favourite lyric or poem stitched by hand.

For the times when you have lost a loved one, I also create memory quilts. These precious pieces use selected pieces of clothing and are slow stitched with love and care. The lap size quilt is quite literally a comfort blanket or like a big hug to envelop you as the tears fall or warm memories unfold.

Slow Stitch Home Gathering

Unwind, chat and slow stitch with friends

I am now able to offer slow stitching small group workshops at your home.

Gather a group of 4 – 6 friends, add some coffee (and cake!) and I’ll bring everything else that’s needed to sew unique mini pocket quilt pieces!

This is a lovely 2.5 hour session to unwind, chat and slow stitch with friends. No previous experience is needed. The workshop is about relaxing, having fun and creating small, improvised quilt works along the way!  It’s a great self-care treat and by using fabric scraps from my collection is also a sustainable way to learn a new craft with your friends.

All materials and tools provided. Available from January 2025.
